Alstom in Brazil
Alstom has operated in Brazil for over 50 years and have more than 4,000 employees. From April 2008 to March 2009 the revenue of the company was R$1.81 billion, with an order backlog of R$ 4.17 billion. Alstom offers complete solutions and has been contributing to the development of the country’s infrastructure.
In power generation:
- all large hydroelectric projects such as Itaipu, Tucuruí, São Simão and, more recently, Foz do Chapecó and Estreito and
- thermal power projects such as TermoBahia, TermoRio and Piratininga.
In rail transport:
- São Paulo’s Metro,
- Rio de Janeiro’s Metro,
- Brasília’s Metro.
With a major industrial presence, Alstom Brazil has become a platform for exports, producing equipments and systems for large projects for the power sector such as:
- Three Gorges (China),
- La Vueltosa (Venezuela),
- Ralco (Chile) among others
- Metros in Buenos Aires (Argentina), Santiago (Chile) and New York (United States).
